I established Block Party after gaining experience from working in different pop-up markets, immersing myself in Louisville's art community. From the start of craft show markets to the establishment of two brick-and-mortar boutiques, I take pride in my 11 years of business ownership experience where I learned invaluable lessons. My first location was a 2000-square-foot space in Downtown Louisville, which I collaborated on with Louisville Downtown Development to help revitalize South 4th St. I kept my business going by using visual merchandising and organizing unique events that attracted a loyal customer base. Soon after, I expanded to a second location on Frankfort Avenue. After collaborating with illustrator Gemma Correll for events, I became her retail artist manager, where I designed products, planned events, and managed sales. Another significant achievement was maintaining excellent customer service, which resulted in being selected as Kentucky's best-reviewed retailer on Yelp. My retail portfolio displays my creativity, practical skills, resilience, collaborative approach, leadership, and ability to design retail spaces in large, small, and mobile environments.
